“Um..What Is It That You Do?” — The Truth Behind the House of Lenore Sisterhood

She called me hesitantly. Her voice was soft, uncertain.

“Um… hi.. I saw your photos online and.. well.. what is it that you do, exactly?”

I smiled, even though she couldn’t see me. I knew how hard it was for her to make that call and I was secretly applauding her for it.

“I make women feel good.”

There’s no perfect title for it. No one-liner that captures the electricity of watching a woman fall in love with herself again. But that’s the essence. Whether it’s through a boudoir session in my studio, a slow-burning Ladies’ Night surrounded by candlelight and velvet, or just a passing conversation on Main Street—my work is rooted in helping women see themselves again. Really see.

And lately? The buzz is growing.

I’ve had women stop me while I’m walking downtown, eyes lit up, thanking me for creating something that feels like more than an event. “It’s a sisterhood,” one of them told me last week. “I didn’t even know how much I needed this until I found it.”

Here’s the truth:

Most women walk through life carrying silent shame about their bodies. Especially mothers. After babies, after breastfeeding, after years of putting everyone else first, our reflection becomes unfamiliar. We notice what we aren’t—too pale, too soft, too big, too tired—and we miss what we are.

I work with women every day who are terrified to be photographed. They tell me they need to lose 10 pounds. They apologize for their stomachs, their thighs, their stretch marks. They whisper insecurities like secrets, hoping I’ll somehow confirm what they’ve feared: that they aren’t enough.

But I never do.

Because I see something else.

I see power.

I see grace.

I see the sacred lines of survival and softness woven into their skin.

And when they step in front of my lens—nervous, vulnerable, unsure—and I show them the truth of how the world sees them? Something changes.

There’s a shift.

A softening.

A remembering.

They cry. They laugh. They stand taller.

This isn’t just about lingerie. Or makeup. Or a night out with girlfriends. It’s about reclaiming the parts of us we were taught to hide. It’s about taking off the armor. It’s about saying, I am here, and I am beautiful—not someday, not when I fix myself. Right now.

If you’ve been watching from a distance, wondering what this is all about, consider this your invitation.

Come as you are.

Show up with your nerves, your doubts, your beautiful broken bits.

You don’t have to “be ready.” You just have to be willing.

The House of Lenore was built for women like you.

And I promise—once you see yourself the way we see you, you’ll never look back.

Want to join us?

Come to our next Ladies’ Night, schedule a session, or just reach out and say, “I’m curious.”

You don’t have to have it all figured out.

You just have to want to feel good again.
